The incubator pod is part of a VORT Com-Network computer terminal. The larve is submerged in liquid, with electrodes stimulating it's brain, digitizing it's telepathic communication to control the hive.

VORT Industries - Virrpent Larve

Earlier this year I was invited to contribute to this VR Experience called VORT Industries, an art school graduation project focussed on worldbuilding. I was given the concept art of this slave race called Virrpents, and was tasked to derive a larve form of this creature.
